I closed my eyes and clenched my fist as he put my yellow index card back. Francis stood calmly, and like me, his hands were in front of either side of him.
" W ho's the doctor she was saying?"
" It was Dr. Lorenzo who performed the examinations and found the lacerations in the child's vagina."
I sighed and averted my gaze. When Jessie and I met eyes, she was pale and had beads of sweat on her temples.
" And the ruling?" Atty asked.
Francis immediately answered and sat down after that. Our class continued with her and Mien and Jessie almost fainted when they were called. Unable to answer correctly, the three of us remained standing until the recitation was over. My guess was four or five were given to me. Urgh. I really hate bad recits.
When the three hour class was over, the next one was free cut so I decided to study at The Lib first and read. I was too stressed to stand up earlier so I needed a quiet place.
When I got there I automatically stared at the seat where Loren sat the first time I saw him here. I could still imagine him sitting there and refusing to confront me even if he already knew that I was staring.
I slapped my cheek when I realized what I was thinking. What's that? my recit earlier was bad because of his weird name and I even got to think of him!
I lowered my bag into the adjacent seat and pulled out my laptop. While waiting for that to start, I first texted Yana that we will meet here at The Lib.
She agreed so after two hours I finished what I was doing and she came smiling and happily sitting in front of me. I put away my belongings and put them in the bag.
" Oh why are you having fun?" I asked and sipped my coffee as my bag closed. Hope ol fun.
" W ell, Larce and I are dating— hey! The paper has been wet!"
I quickly lowered the cup and covered my mouth while coughing. I spilled the coffee in my mouth when I suddenly choked on what he said. Wtf. The heat in the throat. It hurts!
" Y- you mean .. Larce from Law?" I can't believe my question.
She was still frowning shaking some important papers that was wet. It's really
good and I've closed my laptop before and it's already hidden in my bag otherwise I'll be teasing myself with annoyance.
" Yes, the president of your org." She answered as he laid the paper on the table. My eyes widened as I looked at her. " But he's— "
" Old? Duh? It's only six years, my parents are 10 years gap, e. And hellooo? As if he's going to be a wife already, we're just dating. I don't intend to make him my husband. " She defended so I gasped and took a tissue lara wipe the table.
" W hy bother to date if you don't see him as a husband?" I still ask.
" Duh? I'm still young and I just want some spices in my dish, you know the drill." He replied.
I just shook my head and didn't even look outside. Because the glass wall is next to me, I can freely see vehicles and people passing by. It was dark outside and the night light of the establishments was on. I searched the cars in a row but I saw no black mercedes.
" Hey, what are you looking at outside? Are you waiting for something?" I was dazzled when Yana suddenly spoke so I tried to frown.
" Nothing." I answered sparingly.
She narrowed her eyes at me and shook her head slightly as she read. I forced myself to concentrate and not look outside so that Yana wouldn't notice.
Until when I get to work, my mind is floating. I caught a few glances at the chair Loren always sat on. Now someone else is sitting there and it’ s not frowning and reading like Loren. So he really did what he said, huh? Good.
" Celine," I looked up at Annie when she suddenly appeared in front of the counter. She is early now. " Loren's gone now?" She asked so I frowned.
" Do I look like i know where he is?"
She was stunned and seemed surprised at what I said, even I changed my tone. " I mean I don't. " I'm tried to recover myself.
She nodded slowly and seemed to ignore what I had said earlier. " But later he won't come?" She asked.
