5  French Interpreter

Isabella didn't know when she fell asleep. When she was a little conscious, her lower abdomen bust into pain.
She knew that it was the sign of her coming period. The last few times, Christian had already returned. So this time she also subconsciously moved close to him. "Hubby, I got abdominal pain."
She reached out to him, but there was nothing.
Isabella opened her eyes in a daze, only then did she realize that the man's side was empty and cold. Obviously, he had been away for a long time, with a note left on the bedside table.
"Hurry to catch flight for a three-day business trip."
Christian's handwriting was the same as him, neat and tidy. The distance between each word was just right.
Isabella held the note tightly in her arms. She felt that the string pressed in her heart finally snapped, and buried her head in tears.
For the past three years, she had spent countless days and nights on her own when he wasn’t at home. However, she had never felt such heart-wrenching pain before.
Isabella got a cold due to carelessness while having an abdominal pain at the same time, and she felt very discomfortable. She called the company to ask for a sick leave, then turned off the phone and sleep. When she was hungry, she just ordered some take-away porridge.
Two days later, the cold was gone and she felt much better.
Isabella got up to take a bath. Then she felt much more comfortable and called Naomi, "Naomi, I need your help."
Naomi asked: "What's up?"
"Can you lend me some money?" Isabella knew that Naomi's family was just from an ordinary family. Her parents were both workers whose salaries were not very high. But she had no choice.
"Is it about your father?"
Isabella sighed.
The first judge of Brighton was dismissed, and the news was overwhelming around the world. Even beggars would know that.
"I'm on the night shift so I can't leave right now." Naomi said, "but I will transfer 80,000 to you on my phone. It is just a small sum but also all I can lend at this moment. I'll think about other ways."
"That's far from enough, I'll consider other ways myself." Isabella didn't know what to say and was deeply moved. "Naomi, you really helped me a lot.  Thanks so much."
Lily said calmly, “It's okay. We have been friends for a long time. Oh, you learned French before, right? One of my guests needs a French interpreter. 100,000 dollars a night. Would you like to try?"
"100,000?" 100,000 for one negotiation. This was indeed a lifesaver for Isabella, since what she needed right now was exactly money. "Alright, give me the contact details."
"But they drink hard. Can you bear it?"
"It's okay. We also drank a lot when we were in school, remember? Don't you know how much I can drink?"
"Okay then."
Finishing the chatting for a while, Naomi sent her a number.
Isabella phoned the number, and the other side knew her intention while she mentioned Naomi's name. She was asked to dressed properly and get to the Joy Hotel at 6 p.m. Isabella noted these on paper.
Spending three minutes chatting on phone, she got such a high-paying temporary job. Isabella almost screamed for joy.
With what she had borrowed, she could have a total of 180,000 dollars!
Isabella was very careful with this temporary job. She picked in the wardrobe for a few hours. Seeing time is up, she made up quickly and rushed out with her bag and keys.
Her taxi arrived at the hotel in about ten minutes.
The waiter immediately knew Isabella's room after she telling him her mobile number. He led her up to the third floor, where the long corridor was covered with a soft red carpet, and there isn’t noisy when stepping on.
There were only four people in the private room. Isabella knew the leader with just a glance, so she went up and reached out, "Mr. Stock, I'm the French Interpreter, Isabella."
"Oh, Isabella?" Seeing that Isabella had greeted him as soon as she entered and even had dressed properly, Mr. Stock was rather impressed by her natural temperament and shook her hand.
Mr. Stock briefly introduced her the people around him as well as the negotiations today, which was about the export of commodities. They asked for an interpreter because the other party was French.
